What is Aerodrome?
Aerodrome Finance is a decentralized exchange protocol built on the Base network, functioning as an automated market maker (AMM). It aims to be the primary hub for liquidity on Base by integrating a liquidity incentive system, a vote-lock governance structure, and a user-friendly interface. The protocol is based on the latest iteration of Velodrome, a similar AMM on another blockchain.
The platform's design focuses on concentrating liquidity and aligning incentives among traders, liquidity providers, and governance participants. Through its governance model, token holders can lock tokens to gain voting power, which influences how emissions are distributed across different liquidity pools. This mechanism is intended to direct rewards toward the most active and needed markets. Aerodrome's goal is to offer a central and efficient venue for on-chain trading and liquidity provision within the Base ecosystem.
