BlackFort is a blockchain platform designed to offer the essential features of a high-quality blockchain. It operates as a Layer 1 network that is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), providing speed, scalability, security, and efficiency. It uses a Proof of Staked Authority (PoSA) consensus mechanism, making it easy for users to become delegators. Transparency is a core focus, ensuring all transaction participants have the necessary information. BXN, the platform's native token, is used for transaction fees, data storage costs, and staking to run validator nodes, supporting the network's operations and security.
The BXN mainnet was launched on April 22, 2020, with a maximum supply of 49,999,999,999 tokens. Out of this total, 10.5 billion tokens, representing 21%, are allocated to 304,000 Delegator Node-NFTs. These are used to secure the network through the PoSA consensus mechanism, where validators help validate transactions. The remaining 59%, or 29.5 billion tokens, are distributed as block rewards over approximately ten years to all Node-NFT holders on a proportional basis. Detailed tokenomics can be found in the BlackFort whitepaper, specifically Section 5.10.
The development of the BXN blockchain is guided by principles aimed at creating a flexible and extensible network of EVM-compatible smartchains that work in harmony. Rather than replacing existing blockchains, BXN seeks to complement them. It operates as a standalone, independent blockchain, not a layer-2 solution, while still using existing ETH addresses. Its core technical and business functions are self-contained to support interoperability and future cross-chain transfers. BXN is EVM-compatible, meaning most Ethereum-based dApps, tools, and ecosystem components can work with minimal changes. Additionally, staking involves consensus and governance, with hardware requirements kept low for node operators.
In the BXN network, a block is created and validated every 5 seconds. Each block contains a batch of transactions and interactions, along with the release of block rewards. Transaction fees paid by users are processed, and distribution occurs automatically before the next block forms. To estimate the halving period, note that 6,000,000 blocks take approximately one year in real time. Block reward halving occurs at every 6,000,000th block. For example, the fifth year starts at block number 30,000,000, calculated as 6,000,000 multiplied by 5.
BlackFort Network uses a custom staking method called Proof-of-Staked-Authority (PoSA). This consensus mechanism is designed to offer a decentralized and straightforward staking experience. Users can stake their tokens to earn rewards by validating transactions on the network. Staking can be done through validator nodes, delegation, or a do-it-yourself approach. PoSA allows participants to contribute to network security and efficiency without needing energy-intensive processes or expensive hardware, making staking accessible to a wider audience. Overall, PoSA aims to enhance decentralization and accessibility on the BXN blockchain.
The BlackFort Wallet is a client-side, multicurrency wallet application available for iPhone and Android devices. It is designed to provide users with a secure and convenient way to manage their digital assets. The wallet's features are detailed in the BlackFort Wallet Yellowpaper, which outlines its technical specifications and functionalities. The application aims to support multiple currencies and offer a user-friendly interface for everyday transactions.
BXN holders can benefit from additional utilities across BlackFort products. In the BlackFort Wallet, holders may receive reduced exchange or swap fees, get whitelisted for upcoming projects on the BXN blockchain (including in-house or vetted external projects), and might be eligible for airdrops. For B2B services like the BlackFort Payment Solution, BXN can be used to lower onboarding, operational, and transaction fees. Similarly, BlackFort EMI Services allow BXN to reduce onboarding, operational, and transaction fees, providing cost benefits across various services.
The VOTE token is used for governance purposes, allowing holders to participate in votes that determine how network resources are allocated and which proposed functions are implemented. This token represents a weight of authority in a DAO voting process. It was distributed to early backers of the BXN token economy, giving them a say in the network's development and decision-making.
BlackFort Exchange Network (BXN) is a Layer 1 blockchain platform designed for compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). It operates on a Proof of Stake Authority (PoSA) consensus mechanism, which aims to provide speed, scalability, and efficiency. The network emphasizes transparency in transactions and allows users to participate as delegators with relative ease. Its smartchain technology supports the secure transfer of digital assets and the execution of smart contracts for automating complex transactions.
BXN serves as the native utility token on the network, used for transaction fees, data storage, and running validator nodes through staking of BXN NODE-NFT tokens. The mainnet launched on April 22, 2020, with a total maximum supply of approximately 50 billion BXN tokens. Of this, 21% is allocated to 304,000 Delegator Node-NFTs to secure the network, while 59% is reserved for block rewards distributed over about ten years to Node-NFT holders.
The blockchain is designed as a standalone network rather than a layer-2 solution, though it can operate using existing Ethereum addresses. Its EVM compatibility allows most existing dApps and tools to function with minimal changes. Staking-based consensus is intended to be more environmentally friendly and support faster block times of five seconds, with a halving period that can be estimated based on this block interval.
