What is Cysic?
Cysic is developing infrastructure aimed at turning computing resources into verifiable, tokenized assets on a blockchain. The project focuses on integrating hardware acceleration, zero-knowledge proof systems, and a marketplace for compute. This setup is designed to allow contributions to and use of global computing capacity for applications in blockchain and artificial intelligence.
The network operates as a Layer-1 blockchain with a Proof-of-Compute consensus mechanism. Validators engage in Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus and check the accuracy of computing tasks before state changes are recorded. This process enables workloads like zero-knowledge proof generation and AI inference to be executed off-chain and then settled on-chain with cryptographic validation.

CYS is the network's native token, used for paying for compute tasks, staking to secure the network, and distributing rewards. Staking CYS also mints CGT, a non-transferable governance credit. CGT is intended for governance participation and determining compute quota and scheduling priority. The project was founded in 2022 by a team with backgrounds in hardware engineering, cryptography, and blockchain development. In recent testnet phases, the network reported over 1.36 million wallet addresses, more than 11.9 million transactions, 41,000 provers, and over 200,000 verifiers.
