DAR Open Network (D) is a cryptocurrency project that builds on the original Bitcoin protocol by introducing a range of technical modifications. These include stealth addresses for enhanced privacy, native Tor integration, cross-chain atomic swaps, and support for multi-signature addresses and transactions. The network also incorporates a Proof of Data mechanism and an encrypted messaging feature. Its mining process relies on Tribus, a Proof of Work hashing algorithm composed of three cryptographic functions—JH, Keccak, and Echo—which are drawn from the NIST5 standard. The total supply is capped at 10 million D, created during a hybrid Proof of Work/Proof of Stake phase lasting three years, after which the network transitions fully to Proof of Stake with a 6% annual return.
The project employs a hybrid Masternode system called Fortuna Stakes, designed to distribute rewards evenly among participants over time. According to the source, each Fortuna Stake is allocated 33% of every mined Proof of Work and Proof of Stake block. The collateral required to operate a Fortuna Stake or masternode is set at 5,000 D. The system aims to promote fairness in reward distribution across all stakeholders.
