What is Fuse Network?
Fuse Network is an EVM-compatible blockchain platform designed to support Web3 applications, with a focus on payments, decentralized finance, and non-fungible tokens. Launched in 2019, the network aims to provide scalable, fast, and cost-effective infrastructure. Its ecosystem includes a DeFi platform, an NFT marketplace, and a smart wallet, all built on its blockchain. The network’s native token, FUSE, is an ERC-20 token used for transaction fees and other functions within the ecosystem.
The network’s performance includes processing approximately 180 native token transfers per second, with an average block confirmation time of 5 seconds and transaction fees of less than 0.005 FUSE. A recent increase in the block gas limit to 20 million supports this capacity. FUSE holders can participate in network security and governance by staking tokens, either as validators—requiring a minimum of 100,000 FUSE—or by delegating tokens to validators. In return, they earn a share of block rewards proportional to their stake, minus a validator fee of at least 15%. Validators vote on protocol changes, contributing to the network’s decentralized governance model.
