What is The Index?
Index Coop creates tokenized index products for the cryptocurrency market. These products are single tokens that represent a diversified basket of other assets, such as the DeFi Pulse Index or the Metaverse Index. This structure allows an investor to gain exposure to an entire sector through one position, rather than purchasing individual assets separately.
The index products are issued as ERC-20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain. They are designed to be minted or redeemed against the underlying basket of assets, a mechanism that helps keep the token's market price aligned with the actual value of the assets it holds.

INDEX is the governance token of the Index Coop. Holders of INDEX have voting rights on key decisions, including which new products to launch, how the weights and rebalancing of existing products are managed, and how the organization's treasury funds are allocated.
