JUST is a decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem built on the TRON blockchain, offering a suite of products centered around a stablecoin lending platform called JustStable. Launched in August 2020 after an initial exchange offering on Poloniex, its governance token JST has been available since May 2020. The ecosystem uses two tokens: USDJ, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, and JST, which is used for paying interest, maintaining the platform, and participating in governance. Users can mint USDJ by depositing collateral, such as TRX, into collateralized debt positions.
The JUST ecosystem is overseen by the JUST Foundation, which reportedly includes individuals from companies like Alibaba, Tencent, and IBM, along with financial analysts from global investment banks. Notable team members include Terance F, a blockchain expert with experience at Barclays and IBM; Elvis Zhang, a senior developer; C Wu, a specialist in wallets and exchanges; and GL Kong, a blockchain engineer and early crypto adopter. While many team details are not public, the project appears to have ties to TRON, as it was announced by TRON's CEO Justin Sun and has received support from TRON.
JUST distinguishes itself by aiming to provide a comprehensive DeFi ecosystem on TRON rather than a single product. As of January 2021, it comprises five interoperable products: JustStable, a stablecoin platform; JustLend, a money market protocol for lending and borrowing; JustSwap, an automated market maker for token swaps; JustLink, a decentralized oracle system; and cross-chain tokens, which are tokenized assets from other blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum. This suite covers various DeFi use cases, offering users a range of services within one ecosystem.
As of January 2021, approximately 2.26 billion JST tokens are in circulation, representing about 23% of the maximum supply of 9.9 billion. These tokens are earned through activities such as depositing, lending, and providing liquidity on the JUST Network, or by participating in special campaigns. The initial token distribution from the IEO was as follows: 11% seed sale, 4% public sale, 26% strategic partnerships, 19% team, 10% airdrop to TRX holders, and 30% ecosystem. Details on vesting periods and inflation are not fully disclosed, but team tokens are expected to be fully vested by April 2022.
As a TRC-20 token, JUST relies on the security of the TRON blockchain. TRON uses a delegated-proof-of-stake (dPOS) consensus mechanism, which is more energy-efficient than proof-of-work. In this system, TRX holders vote for 27 super representatives who are responsible for generating blocks and validating transactions. This structure helps maintain the network's integrity and protect against attacks.
JST is widely available on major exchanges such as Binance, Poloniex, OKEx, and Bithumb. As of January 2021, popular trading pairs include JST/USDT, JST/KRW, and JST/BTC. Some platforms also allow direct fiat purchases of JST using credit or debit cards. For more information on buying cryptocurrencies with fiat, you can refer to guides on that topic.
JUST is a decentralized finance ecosystem operating on the TRON blockchain, centered around a suite of interoperable products. Its core offering is JustStable, a platform for a multi-collateral stablecoin called USDJ, which is pegged to the US dollar. The ecosystem also includes JustLend for lending and borrowing, JustSwap for token exchanges, JustLink as an oracle system, and tokenized cross-chain assets. Governance is managed through the native JST token, which allows holders to participate in decision-making and platform maintenance.
The platform launched in August 2020, following an initial exchange offering on Poloniex, with the JST token circulating since May of that year. To mint USDJ, users deposit collateral such as TRX, which is converted into locked positions. The project is overseen by the JUST Foundation, whose team includes individuals with backgrounds from companies like Alibaba, Tencent, and IBM, and has received support from TRON. As of January 2021, about 2.26 billion JST tokens were in circulation out of a maximum supply of 9.9 billion, with allocations for seed sales, public sales, partnerships, team, and airdrops.
