QuickSwap is a decentralized exchange operating on multiple Polygon-based networks, including Polygon PoS, Polygon zkEVM, X Layer, and Immutable zkEVM. Its native token, QUICK, supports the DragonFi ecosystem and is used for staking, governance voting, futures trading, and earning rewards through liquidity provision.
An earlier version of the platform, referred to as QuickSwap [Old], functioned as a decentralized exchange on the Ethereum blockchain, allowing direct token swaps without a central authority. Its development was open-source, with GitHub repositories containing components like the QuickSwap-sdk and widget for integration into other applications. The platform later transitioned to the Polygon Network to leverage faster and more cost-effective transactions, adopting an automated market maker model that includes features such as leverage trading, liquidity pools, farming, and staking.
The newer version builds on the AMM framework by using constant product formulas for liquidity pools, rewarding providers with transaction fees. Security measures include support for hardware wallets like Ledger devices and third-party audits of smart contracts. The platform’s shift from Ethereum to Polygon reflects its focus on improving the DeFi experience, though users should remain aware of the inherent risks in cryptocurrency investments.
