What is StreamCoin?
StreamCoin (STRM) is a utility token designed to support an ecosystem of NFT and streaming applications. Its stated goal is to connect traditional web platforms with blockchain-based services, offering a range of functions for a global user base. The ecosystem’s main components include the STRMNFT marketplace and the MeiTalk multi-streaming platform, both built on StreamCoin’s proprietary technology and integrated with the STRM token.
The ecosystem also features the GaStream (GSTRM) secondary token, the Stream Bridge swapping service, the Stream Chain mainnet, and the NSTA-602 standard for creating NFTs from images and full-length videos. STRM currently operates as a BEP-20 token on BNB Chain, with plans to migrate to Stream Chain 2.0 upon its release, which is intended to bring lower fees and additional utilities. The token’s supply is managed through scheduled burns; prior to its May 2022 listing, three burn events reduced the total supply by over half, and subsequent burns have been funded by platform fees from sources like STRMNFT and Stream Bridge.

Stream Chain 1.0 serves as the native blockchain, supporting the NSTA-602 standard and claiming transaction speeds up to 300,000 per second with low fees. STRM is tradeable on more than 115 centralized and decentralized exchanges and can be held in any BNB Chain-compatible wallet. Stream Bridge extends cross-chain functionality to five networks, including Ethereum, Polygon, Fantom, and Avalanche, providing additional storage and trading options.
