What is ThetaFuel?
ThetaFuel (TFUEL) is the operational token of the Theta blockchain, a Layer 1 network designed for video, AI, and entertainment applications. It functions as gas for transactions and smart contract interactions, and is also used for staking and earning rewards, which helps secure the network. Additionally, TFUEL is involved in liquidity mining on the ThetaDrop NFT marketplace, supporting the platform's digital collectibles ecosystem.
The Theta network operates with a dual structure that includes the Theta Blockchain for payments, rewards, and smart contracts, and the Theta Edge Network for compute, storage, and content delivery. This setup supports various uses such as video streaming and AI tasks. A planned hybrid cloud platform, Theta EdgeCloud, aims to expand these capabilities further using a distributed architecture.
