What is TROLL?
TROLL is a digital currency that began as a parody project on 14 March 2014, created by an anonymous developer. It functions as a tipping service tailored for platforms like Twitch and Twitter, while also serving as an experiment in how a brand associated with trolling can spread. The project operates on a hybrid blockchain that combines Proof of Work (Scrypt) and Proof of Stake mechanisms.
Since May 2014, the project has been managed by Karl Wickman, who is based in Los Angeles. Development is supported by a mostly anonymous group of volunteers located around the world. Additionally, the Trollcoinbot services platform is developed and managed by Colt Fortenberry. The currency is positioned as a real-time study in negative brand marketing, though specific details about its broader adoption or use cases are not provided.
