What is Velo?
Velo Labs is developing a federated credit exchange network supported by the Velo Protocol. This blockchain-based financial protocol is designed to enable businesses to issue digital credits and conduct borderless asset transfers through a smart contract system. The network operates using the Stellar Consensus Protocol for transaction processing and settlement. Its primary objective is to allow partners to transfer value securely and transparently, with the issuance of collateral-backed digital credits that can represent various fiat currencies for frictionless value movement.
The ecosystem includes a mobile application called Orbit for peer-to-peer payments and a multi-chain bridge named Warp for asset transfers across different blockchain networks. The VELO token functions as collateral and serves as a requirement for participation within the ecosystem, supporting value transfers and stable settlements.
