Bedrock DAO is a governance structure designed to oversee decision-making within the Bedrock ecosystem. Its framework allows holders of the BR token to take part in governance by converting their tokens into veBR, a voting escrow token. Through this system, participants can influence decisions on protocol parameters, incentive designs, and how liquidity is allocated.
The governance model centers on veBR, which is created by locking BR tokens at a one-to-one ratio. Voting power increases with the length of the lock period, and veBR holders cast votes on proposals, including gauge allocations that determine how incentives are spread across different liquidity pools. A seasonal reset mechanism periodically returns all voting power to a baseline level at the end of each season, preventing long-term holders from gaining outsized influence and allowing new participants to engage more easily.

Initially, the Bedrock team will set up the DAO and maintain administrative control over its contracts. Over time, governance authority is expected to shift to veBR holders, enabling the DAO to independently manage protocol upgrades, incentive structures, and other governance functions as the transition progresses.
